GeTec - Technology Management Group

Innovation capacities are recognised as critical to the competitiveness of companies and economic systems and to their growth prospects, which explains the growing interest of entrepreneurs and policymakers in technological dynamics. GeTec participates in academic studies to respond systematically to this interest by developing Research that contributes to the understanding of the innovation process and to greater efficiency in using the knowledge generated in research institutions. The group is based on a multidisciplinary approach. It carries out research and extension projects related to specific industries (metal-mechanics, ceramics, automobile, etc.) and other types (technology-based companies, for example). It also studies two central mechanisms for transferring knowledge from the university to society: university-business cooperation and entrepreneurship. This research effort empowers GeTec to participate in shaping Science, Technology & Innovation policies and corporate technology strategies.
