International graduates
Thanks to its researchers, the PPGEP has welcomed many international students who came to study for their master's, doctorate or post-doctorate degrees. After graduating, these graduates are now working in various national and international institutions and have published in high-impact publications. Some of these successful graduates include:
Jonathan de La Vega Martinez from Colombia defended his doctorate in 2019, and was funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). Jonathan did a sandwich doctorate at the University of Chile under the supervision of Prof. Fernando Ordonez and later at the University of Montreal with Prof. Michel Gendreau. After doing his doctorate viva, Jonathan completed his postdoctoral studies from 2019 to 2020, funded by ANP/Petrobras. Research publications carried out at the PPGEP/DEP resulted in articles published in high- impact journals of selective editorial policy. He is currently a contract researcher at the University of Montreal, Canada.
Aldair Alberto Álvarez Díaz, from Colombia, defended his doctorate in 2020 funded by FAPESP. Aldair did a sandwich doctorate at the University of Montreal with Prof. Jean-François Cordeau. Research carried out resulted in articles published in high-impact journals of selective editorial policy. He is currently a contract researcher at the University of Montreal, Canada.
Karim Yaneth Pérez Martinez, from Colombia, defended her doctorate in 2018 funded by FAPESP. Karim did a sandwich doctorate at the University of Montreal supervised by Prof. Raf Jans and Prof. Yossiri Adulyasak. Research carried out resulted in articles published in high-impact journals of selective editorial policy. She is currently a contract researcher at the University of Montreal, Canada.
Pedro Luis Miranda Lugo, from Colombia, defended his doctorate in 2018 funded by FAPESP. Pedro did a sandwich doctorate at the University of Montreal supervised by Prof. Jean-François Cordeau. Research carried out resulted in articles published in high-impact journals of selective editorial policy. He is currently a contract researcher at the University of Montreal, Canada.
Matthias Thürer, from Germany, did his post-doctorate in 2011 funded by FAPESP. The project developed was “Workload Control (WLC): proposta de sistema de apoio à decisão e melhorias no método”. The following researchers collaborated in this project: Mark Stevenson from the University of Lancaster (UK), Martin Land from the University of Groningen (Netherlands), Cristovão Silva from the University of Coimbra (Portugal), Nuno Fernandes from the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco (Portugal), George Huang from the University of Hong Kong (China) and Lawrence Fredendall from Clemson University (USA). This project led to an academic master's degree and two academic doctorates. Research related to this project resulted in articles published in high-impact journals of selective editorial policy.
